Seven Layer Salad
1 head lettuce, chopped
1 medium onion, chopped
1 (10 ounce) package frozen peas
1 (10 ounce) package, shredded Cheddar or Jack cheese
1 pound bacon
1 cup sliced mushrooms
2 tomatoes (cut bite size)
1 1/4 cups mayonnaise
2 tablespoons white sugar
2/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Cook bacon till crisp. Crumble when cool.
In a clear dish, place the chopped lettuce and top with a layer of onion, peas, shredded cheese, bacon mushrooms and tomatoes.
Prepare the dressing by whisking together the mayonnaise, sugar and parmesan cheese. Drizzle over salad and refrigerate until chilled.
Don’t add tomatoes till serving time. Makes it too watered down during chill stage
